The only time I fiddled with Foobar was when I tried between Kernel Streaming, Asio output, WASAPI to see which works well. If Foobar needs to be updated, I follow the same procedure. Even Foobar was installed by downloading it on my laptop and using a stick drive to transfer. I ensure I don't add any program to my Audio PC. The idea of playing from a PC is to keep it as minimalist as possible. I just use default settings and I am happy with the way my music plays.
